The bust, the
spatula and the artist seems to be all a different
scale as if your eyes are not quite adjusted somehow. But when
you
try to focus the scale remains the same. I thinks it brings home
how
a sculptor has to be able to plan and visualise his work. Not all
works look good when they are enlarged several times but some
works
would become more impressive and monumental. Moore is known to
have
worked on a very small scale. Models had to fit into his hands
when
he was working on them then later they would be scaled up by him
or
his assistants.
