An artist's tools
somehow seem very special and personal to me.
Personal because of the artist's `presence'. The tools do not
show
the artist's allegiance to a sculptural movement or his feelings
but
they are always very close to him and they probably stayed in the
studio longer than any of his pieces. The artist uses his tools
to
translate his ideas into visible forms, they were nearly an
extension of himself. Epstein kept his tools in a brown leather
box
with purple satin lining.
