Looking at
yesterday's picture of Henry Moore cycling and tomorrow's
sculpture of a woman with a chair made me think about legs.
Someone
else who works here had a similar subject on his mind last year
and
I flippantly refer to this as his 'long legged sculpture'
project. He
found a range of remarkably similar images of the work of
contemporary sculptors (and Giacometti) in the library, scanned
nineteen of them, labelled them, and displayed them with a
bibliography indicating their source. He called the project
'Library Studies No.1' which indicated that he had further ideas,
or
that he was prompting other people to follow his example. Someone
else took the opportunity and produced No.2 on sculpture and
textiles. No.3 was on Medardo Rosso. What will No.4 be?
