Books are often described by their colour. Allington's (yesterday)
is red for rust. This one is blue for water, and covered in a
wonderful fabric which ripples in the light, as appropriate to the
title. Jan Hoet, the director of the project, refers to the ripple
effect of the ever increasing circle of people from across the world
involved in it. Artists were selected from various European
countries, the USA, Canada, China and Japan and an exhibition lasting
one month took place in different sites in the city of Tokyo. In the
same way artranspennine98 is also an exhibition involving
international contemporary visual artists. Artranspennine98 lasts
for three months and is taking place in various sites across the
region from Liverpool to Hull (west to east).
