Seven brackets

While David Nash's
diary was a private record of his Polish project,
this book was published by Edward Allington as part of his River
Exe
project. I don't intend to act on the artist's suggestion to cut
open the pages (they are folded) and then throw the book into the
river, else I wouldn't be able to show you it today! I first met
Allington when he exhibited what he calls the 'loose' version of
this project at Leeds City Art Gallery, (the 'fixed' version
being on
the River Exe), which included his (unrealised) proposals for a
floating temple. Most recently I saw him at a conference,
'Sculpture
and the Garden', where he outlined the proposal that he is
discussing
with the Yorkshire Sculpture Park for a semi-submerged 'grotto'
in
the lake there. I wonder if this proposal will be realised?
