The two artists,
David Nash and Leon Tarasewics, met for the first
time during a group exhibition in the Ikon Gallery in Birmingham.
Years later, in 1991, they exhibited together again, this time in
Poland in Ujazdowski Castle. David Nash made five pieces for this
Polish exhibition. The `Furrowed Oak' is still in his own
collection
in Wales. The diary shows David Nash's personal experiences from
the
moment he set off from Britain until his return. He once said
that
his wife enjoyed the first week when he was away but became more
and
more restless after that. He faxed this diary through to keep in
touch with his family. The diary seems to include lessons for us
all, is very funny, and it is definitely a good read.
