The Wright
sketchbooks are filled with a remarkable amount of ideas
for sculpture on one page and yet he never took any of his
sketchbooks into his barn to take his ideas from paper into
aluminium. He must have gone over his ideas so often that he was
able to visualise the piece he was intending to make. The texture
of
the piece and the details were probably something he would
determined in his barn. The intricate lines in the sketchbook
seem a
window to the person behind the art works. A man who took as
inspiration rock formations, plants, microbes, and the human body
as
represented by Vesalius, spines, rocks, and bones.
