The relationship between art and nature is the primary concern of
TICKON, the Tranekaer International Art and Nature Centre, on the
island of Langeland in Denmark. Chris Drury, Andy Goldsworthy and
David Nash are among the artists who have worked at Tranekaer park.
All three of these artists are well represented in our collections.
As well as art works by each of them in the sculpture collection, we
have printed material in the library, and an archive relating to
Nash's Polish project (see 10 June). We receive many enquiries from
students about artists working with natural materials. The TICKON
poster shows a photograph of a piece by Goldsworthy which was made
of an iris blade, poppy petals and water. You might remember it from
when I had it up on the wall in my office.
